We were commissioned to develop packaging for a home fragrance collection consisting of four products, one of which is available in two sizes. Each box is foiled in a unique foil colour and features an embossed pattern on the lid.

About Formarkivet
Formarkivet is a multidisciplinary design house that bridges the past, the present, and the future through design. Their product range is centred on a furniture collection, complemented by home objects and a home scent collection.
The background
When the Danish design studio Formarkivet developed the packaging for its fragrance collection, Marmacén, the goal was to combine timeless elegance with a warm, human touch. Working with Multiply Solutions, they created packaging in which materials, construction, and graphic expression harmonize down to the finest detail. The result is a thoughtfully conceived whole that reflects the brand’s identity and enhances the product experience.
Formarkivet is a Danish design studio that unites the past, present, and future through design. Its range centers on a furniture collection complemented by interior accessories and home fragrance products. The design philosophy is defined by understated luxury, longevity, sustainability, and strong aesthetic forms. Every product is intended to feel as relevant today as it will in the future.
For the Marmacén fragrance collection, Formarkivet sought to create a distinctive graphic expression where precision and structure meet warmth and empathy. The packaging needed not only to showcase the contents but also to convey the care and emotion behind the products. Achieving this required meticulous work regarding material selection, construction, and graphic details.
"It was very much about the details. I wanted to unite two opposites, which required extensive work on material selection and construction through close collaboration between our department and the team at Multiply Solutions," says Peter Hagen Kielgast of Formarkivet.
The solution
A key challenge was finding the right natural paper—with its beautiful, organic irregularities—while maintaining a clean, precise design. The silver-printed graphics also required adjustment to create a softer, warmer aesthetic. Striking the right balance between the material’s natural character and the high precision demanded by the production process was essential. The result is packaging where every detail contributes to the whole—from the tactile feel of the material to the precision of the construction and the understated graphics. The minimalist aesthetic allows the product to speak for itself, while the packaging adds another dimension to the overall experience. Peter: "The precision of the entire package. The printing is understated and timeless, and I love the clean yet warm look. The packaging is beautifully restrained, yet offers a pleasant surprise when unboxing."
